4 JAHRE PROJEKTLAUFZEIT
Die Fotoserie #metropeople begann mit dem Bild eines Mannes, der seinen linken Arm einbandagiert hatte. Draussen war es kalt, und seine Bandage kam unterhalb seiner Jacke hervor um die Handfläche zu umwickeln. Er laß ganz konzentriert in seinem Boulevardblatt und versuchte einen ganz normalen Eindruck zu machen – was auch immer „normal“ bedeuten möge. Gleichzeitig störte ihn sein einbandagierter Arm doch so sehr und machte die Situation unangenehm, jedes Mal, wenn er die Zeitung umblättern wollte.
Nach mehr als vier Jahren Projektzeit, umfasst die Fotoserie #metropeople einige tausend Bilder, die nicht nur für sich selbst genommen eine Geschichte erzählen, sondern, zumeist in Dreiergruppen angeordnet, ganze Erzählungen bilden.
#metropeople is a series of photos emerged in the daily commute in the subways of Vienna. It deals with the question of who the unknowns at my side are, where they come from and what kind of people they really are.
Each photo leaves room for interpretations and speculations, as often only details — hands , accessories, clothing — are in the picture, without showing the person as a whole and in that way debunking it.
Most of the pictures were kept in b/w in order to make the people kind of „equal“. All photos were taken with an iPhone without using additional lighting, editen on my smartphone and originally published on my Instagram account under the hashtag #metropeople.
